CSD is great. Honestly Saves the Day is one of those bands where everyone probably has a different album ranking
I want another In Reverie haha. I'm just hoping its not a raw or low budget sounding album. The newest Two Tongues album was atrocious. I really hope STD stays away from that experience.
If “Stay” doesn’t hit you in the feels- you may be dead inside ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Same goes for “Can’t Stay The Same”.
I can listen to Boards from start to finish and love every song. It’s easily in my top 3 records by STD.
Under the Boards is definitely my favorite Saves record by far. I think it's very cohesive front to back, has great musicianship, catchy songs, and a lot of depth to the lyrics. Because You Are No Other and Getaway are two of my favorites off the album, but I seriously recommend anyone giving it another try. Also, I really hope that we get an update soon. I need a new album from them. Dear Santa...
Their whole discog is great but they are overshadowed by In Reverie, SWYA and STA for me a lot of the time
Through Being Cool, Stay What You Are, In Reverie and the S/T are the only records I've listened to by them, and I love all four of them.
I think it’s a time and place thing. Trying to get into the first two records at 15-18 is a lot different than listening for the first time in one’s 20’s.
To previous points in the thread, it is fascinating how everyone has very different STD album rankings and albums they Stan for. I'll advocate for Sound the Alarm. Flawless in my opinion.
This is probably true, I'd kind of grown out of that sound by the time I got to TBC. I still like it and I appreciate that despite the sound, Chris is certainly not lacking on the music writing here but it's not really ever STD album I reach for first
The rhythm section is so good, shattered is a great song. Sound the alarm is underrated but not as much as it used to be
Someone in the Warped 2018 thread said that Saves is breaking up after releasing one final album. I really hope this is just a rumor, but sadly would make sense with their silence the past few years (aside from one-off appearances).
