Probably would have been done, but the self-titled album came out during in reverie's 10 year anniversary. That's definitely an album worthy of an anniversary tour.
Wow....somebody else actually knows of "Songs in the Silence" (or as I remember it titled, "Zebra")? I heard it played on Saves the Day's early 2004 tour with Grandaddy. It was one of two new songs played that night, the other being "Bye Bye Baby." Hearing both of those tunes that night gave me high hopes for the next album. Alas, neither song made the next album and instead of further exploring the direction they'd been headed since Stay What You Are, they instead regressed on Sound the Alarm to a mall punk sound even more teenaged sounding than Through Being Cool. To be honest I didn't even think anybody had a recording of it. Is it live or studio? Well, here's hoping you found it. Or anybody else around here. I would definitely be interested in acquiring it somehow as this is the sound of a band I loved at the height of heir powers and the height of their ambition. Lastly, I know my opinions here probably won't be well-liked around here but I'm looking forward to discussing the band and whatnot on here. There hasn't been a Saves the Day forum online for as long as I can remember so just having a thread on this site is a breath of fresh air.
I couldn't even find a video of zebra lol. there's another one called sister sophia I also couldn't find. hey, bye bye baby made UTB lol
This is the first I've heard of either of these. I wonder if someone out there has them... Also, would love to see a 2004 version of Bye Bye Baby with Parada and Eben.
Wtf Sound the Alarm has way more sophisticated songwriting than Through Being Cool and is definitely not a regression in quality, despite going back to an older sound
Sound the Alarm was not a regression at all... Manny's bass lines are always so good The rhythm section on Under the Boards was absolutely unreal. I love that album and all the grooves that it has
Sound The Alarm is criminally overlooked. Head For The Hills, Say You'll Never Leave and Bones are all top tier STD songs.
Chris is seriously the weirdest person to follow on instagram, his posts yesterday were fuckin strange
Chris is either like, on drugs a lot, or just likes to be really weird on social media. Bones is a fucking awesome song.
Hope these dudes come out with something this year. Ideally in the fall time lol. Summer would be great too.
I hope we get something as well. the S/T is fun, tight poprock songcrafting. My dream would be for the rhythm section of Glassjaw to rejoin the band (cant remember their names off the top of my head :/) just because I love the extra flair they added to the band. STD have always used the rhythm section far better than most pop punk/pop rock bands of their ilk with intricate drumming and some pretty stellar basslines instead of just doing root notes.
Manny and Durijah! They were seriously so good. I miss that rhythm section more than anything, and now even more that they aren't even in Glassjaw anymore. Those two were perfect together.
