same. thinking about getting a ticket for tonight, but the last time i saw them (for free) Chris was drunk af and it was awkward.
It was one show, it was a one-off show, and it was over a year ago, we all have off days sometimes. I don't see why that still comes up like every page of every Saves the Day thread.
i may be off by a few songs but here's what i pieced together just thinking back on it: (not in order, but they opened with at your funeral) suzuki side by side it's such a beautiful world kerouac/cassady rose xenophobic blind left hook ring pop let it all go 1984 Z (maybe) radio get fucked up kaleidoscope the end shattered eulogy say you'll never leave sound the alarm anywhere with you what went wrong at your funeral cars & calories freakish firefly shoulder to the wheel holly hox rocks tonic juice magic three miles down (acapella) they may have played an additional new song or two. chris played some guitar at times throughout the set, so there were three guitars going at times. they sounded as tight and powerful as any iteration of the lineups from throughout the years, the actual sound/musicianship was fantastic. chris sounded great and was in good spirits. i'm typically an "older stuff" guy but the performances of all the "newer" stuff was excellent and particularly the songs off of "9" were great. it was a good time and it seems like saves the day in 2018 is doing well.
Oh I really really like the per album breakdown there. I hope the setlist looks pretty similar tonight.
For what it's worth, I've heard he's using an electric guitar so may be a bit more powerful than going purely acoustic.
Yeah, he didn't do much talking in Chicago. I've only seen him solo and the electric guitar was better than acoustic. He brought the drummer from An Horse out for a couple songs too. Cotton crush and another one.
