Over time I've realized that I have an odd relationship with this band, I really only truly love Self Titled, Stay What You Are and In Reverie. Everything else is just kind of whatever to me.
their albums are so diverse that I get not a ton of people being in love with all of them. I'd say I full on love most of them, and enjoy CSD, UTB and S/T.
Side by Side doesn't do much for me but I like the other two. Not sure what to expect overall but lyrically, I feel like it's going to get tiresome and not nearly as fun for the listener - as it was for Chris to piece together the past.
Yeah! And the singles being kind of weird has me dying to hear the whole thing. Hopefully it’s streaming immediately at midnight on Friday.
didn't realize two songs have been released since rendezvous. just checked them out, not sure what i think about them.
Found a review today and it wasn't positive at all.. I'm still excited even though I haven't been in love with the last 2 singles They did say the last song is a highlight though
saves could release a record a dogs farting for 2 hours and would still probably remain my favorite band /shrug
Honestly I don't think this band is capable of making anything I could ever truly dislike.. even if they did they have such a strong back catalog it would be long overdue. I hope this band lasts forever
I fully expect to be into this album based on the 3 songs out so far, and I fully expect this thread to be divisive as hell
On track 6. Hands down my favorite instrumentation on any Saves record. The lyrics are very stream of consciousness but the vocal melodies and the music are very Pinkerton-ish but something else added to it that i can't put my finger on. I think the singles are the weakest on the album so far haha. Will update on the rest of the album.
had they released either of the first two tracks as singles the hype itt would’ve been massive this album rules and is way better than the s/t so far
Just got through the whole thing. That last track is amazing, but I probably would have been fine with them separating the parts into their own independent songs. At least the last two should be their own song. Anyway. I love it, yeah, lyrics are redundant at times, but there's so many "meta" lyrics if you're a longtime fan of the band. References to stuff from S/T and Daybreak. I think it's great.
I think he references his wife in the second half of the closer, too. Meeting her when he was on his own and stuff. Maybe.
