It's on par with Merci, perhaps even better, two very different records tho

 

This was one of those situations where like a day or two before the first single came out I was literally thinking about where this band went and when we would hear more from them. Felt like I willed this record into existence lol

Merci was huge for me back when it dropped. Really glad they're finally back and with such a great new sound.

 

This is the MCR redux I knew was coming from a band one day, thought I would hate and am finding I love.

 

Yep, this album is Three Cheers era MCR. So so good.

 

It’s fantastic. Agree with everyone on the MCR vibes and I’m loving it.

This was a great first listen, excited to spend more time with it. 30 mins really flew by, some of the catchiest stuff I’ve heard in a while.

 

I feels like a mix of Three Cheers and Black Parade all at the same time. I love it

Idk if it's because I'm so attached to MCR but most of the bands that get compared to them always seem to pale in comparison and completely lack the same level of songwriting. I also think this guys voice is super grating.

I've been hoping for a band to shoot for that MCR sound for years but these guys don't do it for me at all sadly.

 

When I heard Geoff was on A.M. Gothic I was stoked but there are so many vocal layers it's hard to even tell it's him.

Y’all can do with this information what you will. I’m not trying to “break news” and expose a victim in this thread, this information was confided in private and I’m sure the person involved does not want attention from people they don’t know. I will not be responding to probing questions about this, I just felt the need to put it out there for those who are not in denial and who believe victims that are suffering in silence.

the vocalist of Save Face has sexually assaulted another musician who is a friend of mine, and they mentioned being very hurt and disillusioned that they told all their friends and everyone they knew, but many of them disregarded the information and still went to their most recent tour. It was a situation where the victim was intimidated and gaslighted by a community that didn’t want to believe them, to the point where they were harassed and slandered for daring to speak out and bullied into blaming themselves. Since then everyone who knew about it has acted like it didn’t happen or like it was a consensual incident.

This will probably not come out publicly, because as I said the victim was shut down when they tried to come forward. This info was shared with me via private DMs in June of this year. But as someone who has played a show with Save Face in 2017 and is connected to a lot of the same small-circuit touring bands that they got started with, the best I can do is inform people without revealing the victim’s personal information. For those of you who take this kinda thing seriously, Save Face may not be the band you wanna support.

I missed Pool Kids who I DEARLY wanted to see because they were on a Save Face show - know that I myself have made a sacrifice to avoid supporting this band before I made this post. This post is made not out of spite but out of disappointment and social responsibility as they seem to be gaining a lot of popularity with their new album. I know it’s just word of mouth but I choose to believe my friend who is still very traumatized by what happened.

 

God, this scene is such a trash receptacle. Ok, noted. Don't need to ever listen to this band again.
