I still cannot believe she told that story like it was no big deal when in reality it was so bad/inappropriate that Vanity Fair literally had to completely edit it out of the video. She is very lucky it did not gain more traction than it did because she should have gotten way more blowback for it IMHO.
I think her leaving was also inevitable, she's def gonna be in a bunch of movies and now Ashley and Veronika have more room to shine
Not all that surprised tbh, past couple of years have kinda felt like her time was about up. Enjoyed having her around otherwise though. I remember being pretty skeptical when she came on since her whole thing seemed to be impressions - very quickly exceeded my expectations. Gotta lend her credit for shining through in what wound up being such a chaotic season/era for the show
She told a story on an interview panel about how she pantsed a camper when she was a counselor. You could tell by the way she told it that she thought it was a relatively innocent “funny at the time” thing, maybe not realizing how it was actually pretty fucked up. The other cast members on the panel were not enthused
I will say the proof of her being a Scientologist is tenuous at best haha, it seems like her dad was one and she went to a few classes
For a little more context, it was a 6 year old boy and she did it as “revenge” because the camper kept lifting up her shirt, but the solution to that is not pantsing the kid as “revenge”, it’s telling a supervisor and reprimanding the kid and even talking to the kid’s parents. It was bad enough that she got fired for it but to retell the story in a casual “no big deal” way resulting in Vanity Fair having to remove the story from the video is crazy.
Not surprised at all, she definitely took a backseat last year and kind of felt like she was on her way out. She had a great run on the show
as a person who worked at a summer camp for many years, unfortunately, none of that sounds out of the realm of possibility
Throughout her tenure Fineman was pretty consistently one of the least funny cast members, so not sad to see her go
She wasn’t one of the cast members who did it for me but I do understand that a lot of people liked her. I feel like both her and Bowen have a following that extends beyond SNL or sketch comedy into like lifestyle/fashion/culture.
Does she? Bowen has a podcast so successful that they made a fake awards show out of it, plus was in Wicked lol. I don’t know of a single thing Fineman has done outside of SNL that comes close to that kind of stuff
Bowen was a bit part in Wicked and had literally one line in the second part, was way overused in the marketing for it because he’s so funny.
I think Chloe was always constantly good but never great or a breakout. Not really that upset about her leaving. Now please hire Carl Tart as a cast member. Thank you.
