everything after weekend update was hit or miss for me but i was quite charmed by SNL UK. it still feels like an elaborate 30 rock bit but the vibes felt good and i got a few hearty laughs. can't ask for much more.
I like Dana Carvey as host. He's one of those rare ex-castmembers that honestly doesn't need a new project as an excuse to host . Just can show up any time and absolutely kill. Tina Fey, Mike Myers, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, ect also fall in this category.
Oh , I know him by name, mostly. I havent seen a lot of what he has been in. From what I saw, he seems very talented. The musical guest, I have never heard of though.
That Chloe story of pantsing a 6 year old boy and trying to pass it off as being "a different time" was kind of gross/wild to hear...I would not have shared that story personally.
The UK version has been pretty good so far. “What Kind of Irish is Your Grandad?” Has been stuck in my head for a week. I’ll be curious to see how it diverges from format as it goes on. One little thing I’ve been enjoying is the introduction of the musical guest with the host still in costume from the previous one. It’s a very small change, but I like how it acknowledges that transition in blatant way.
