Got it - yeah I always look forward to hearing him show up on any of the few podcasts I still listen to, dude is very funny. But I can also say that for like 20 other comedians so wasn’t sure if there was more to it here lol. Had no idea he contributed to Miss Eggy!

 

Davey & Jonesie's Locker was a pretty funny show. So I'm excited to see some more Veronika.

Oh damn I remember watching a video about that tiktok series with Veronika and her roommate Kyle a little while back - didn’t realize this was the same person. At the very least she seems like the kind of person that might bring some fresh ideas to the table, excited to see how things play out with her

 

Jeremy Culhane looks really familiar but I can't place from where

 

He looks like every volunteer who has ever tech’d or worked the door at an improv theater.

 

Love Vic Mic. Think she’s better off on Dropout doing her own thing.

 

I feel like there has gotta be more cast departures announcements coming because if not that makes a full cast of 19 which seems pretty bloated.

The past few seasons they have been pretty solidly at 16 or 17 castmembers.

Seeing a lot of comments saying Kam’s gonna get canceled for some of his previous comedy, which obviously isn’t true because cancel culture doesn’t exist and also, I would assume they know what they’re getting into, given his comedy background.

My personal experience and general theory is that, in all walks of life, now is the time to do stuff you may have not gotten fully away with 4-5 years ago. People are overwhelmed by everything going on and there’s a social momentum toward pulling shit and daring people to stop you that a lot of folks are tapping into. I think NBC and SNL don’t fire Gillis if that controversy had happened in 2025.

 

I wonder if Jost or Che leaving is still on the table.

 

The casting news had me going through Veronika’s IG again and this one is just too funny lol

 

Veronica is super exciting , her videos are so fucking funny

 

Are there some 'other' videos of her that are on your lists of 'funny' - I watched a couple (and the one above) and would like to be able to say 'That was funny'.

 

I have only ever been served her Insta/TikTok which is the same character/bit. I think she is great at that particular bit but, for those who don’t yet know how to wrangle it or categorize it, I think viewing it in the same category as awkward Kyle Mooney may help.

She is also on the Netflix show Tires but that’s something I have no plans to watch so I don’t know if her character there is much different.

Teared up when it cut to the scoreboard and the Reds were winning 7-0. I have no memory of that game but I’m glad it happened. Go baseball.

Nothing I’ve seen from the new hires has been good.

 

I haven’t seen work from some of them but the overall vibe seems to be “silly guys” ranging from cringe silly to infectious-smiling-giggling silly to dropping slurs silly.

 

The Veronika stuff I watched was pretty funny, the Culhane stuff I have seen though? Not my cup of tea, but I can see a nugget of potential there.

 

I am usually turned off by shows/podcasts/scenes that feel sorta “cult of personality” so some of his stuff hasn’t really been my cup of tea either. I feel like some Dropout stuff and podcasts like the AOAOAOA podcast he’s on feel kinda like the appeal is that folks get attached to the people/personalities involved and sometimes the content and comedy itself doesn’t feel especially inspired or unique. All that said, I think he’ll do just fine on SNL. He is a fun performer and has more interesting energy than the standard SNL white guy that SNL loves. Could be a Bowen/Dismukes mashup energy.
