I wouldn't be mad if John was the one from PDD to leave. Martin staying on as a writer makes sense, and I'm intrigued by the idea of Ben joining the cast

I like them all but Ben makes the most sense to join the cast. Martin is the funniest though. John is good but I think the least funniest.

I assumed the PDD boys were already writers in addition to their own stuff

Heidi had a fantastic fun. Good for her leaving when she was ready. Always made sense for the vets to leave after both an election year and the biggest milestone season the show is likely to ever have.

Midseason or end of year farewells are certainly nice to see for longtime cast members, but they feel more like the exception rather than the rule. How many cast members have gotten Wiig like sendoffs?

So far Longfellow has been the only genuine surprise among the cast exits. At this point the only ones left whose announcement would shock me are Squirm, Dismukes, Marcello, and Kenan. JAJ would have been a shock too, but he’s already been confirmed to return. The rest seem like fair game to leave based on tenure, opportunities elsewhere, or the ruthless nature of being a one and done featured player.

I’d love if everyone from PDD became cast members, but that seems unlikely. Weird that one would leave though, and that the one being rumored is John considering who his dad is.

They are all on the writing staff.

Ben as a WU host would be interesting

Bowen being the one who stays on to kinda shepard in the transition year and then a big farewell episode makes sense.

If Carl Tart doesn’t become a cast member after this I will riot.

NBCUniversal would likely love that too for both Wicked synergy and his consistent Emmy nominations.

Figured he’d leave after 50 and that increased when Yim announced their departure this week. Would be happy to be wrong though. A couple pre-2020 cast members sticking around another year would make the transition less jarring.

Ben Marshall is hilarious and by far the best actor of the three PDD guys, I would be actively excited if he's becoming a cast member

I just hope the decision to "split up" PDD is their own and not the show's/Lorne's if that's really what's happening

imo PDD has been the best part of SNL for a few years now. A real bummer that its being broken up.

Knowing how fucked up SNL is, Longfellow will probably be hosting a show by the end of the year.

The Insneider is the Aaron Rupar of the entertainment industry. His face and name just elicit and immediate ick.

Oh wow that’s interesting, Kam’s humor is not something I would picture on SNL.

Sherman’s body horror humor seemed odd for SNL but that worked out. I can see Kam’s energy as a performer translating to the format

So, no new news yet from anything SNL related....

But last year the first show was Sept 28, and the hosts/music guests were announced Sept 18, so 10 days before...

And I think on the 18th, they posted who the cast was (new folks added) so, if this year is Oct 4th, we certainly have some time :(
