Longfellow's always been so good at that dry, aloof, emotionally detached persona that would have translated so well to the Weekend Update desk. Always liked the idea of either him and Marcello or him and Sarah Sherman even though it means we'd likely lose them in sketches.
Jimmy Fallon can’t get through an interview with a guest without laughing loudly at every thing they said.
Losing Longfellow is the most upset I’ve been about a cast firing in a long time, that makes absolutely no sense to me at all. He is so funny and has great, unique stage presence that was different for the show. I think he’s going to have a great career though Heidi had an amazing run and really made a mark so while I’m sad she’s leaving, it wasn’t unexpected
Yeah I’m not that bummed about losing Heidi. Always liked her but it’s felt like she been coasting for a couple of seasons now. Great utility player though. She seems to get plenty of work outside of the show, I’m sure she’ll be fine and will be on my TV again in no time
Yeah, Heidi definitely made her mark but didn’t overstay her welcome. It just sucks she won’t get a a farewell like Kristen Wiig. She deserves it. But she’s got that commercial ad money and will likely be in a bunch of stuff. She’ll be fine.
Heidi leaving makes sense, she had a great run on the show. She deserved a goodbye though, I totally agree.
There should be a separate version of SNL just with cast members who were on three seasons or less with a focus on both the popular cast members like Longfellow and Troast but also the forgotten cast members like Brooks Wheelan, John Milhiser, Mike O’Brien, Luke Null and Lauren Holt.
Per this Reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/LiveFromNewYork/s/RMUypUdqIy Bowen is staying for one final season, from PDD Ben is joining the cast, Martin is becoming a writer and John is leaving completely and Woody Allen’s daughter is the new head writers assistant.
