Bowen's probably out the door and as much as I love Sarah's chaotic WU appearances, it seems she's most needed in sketches. Longfellow might be the best option out of the current cast
I would honestly be surprised if Bowen leaves after this season, I'm guessing he'll do one more "victory lap" season like a lot of breakout cast members do Definitely agree with the consensus that Longfellow should get Update, and I wouldn't mind him doing it by himself. I wonder if Devon Walker could have the chops to do it with him if they're gonna keep him around? Him and Longfellow seem pretty tight in real life, they do a lot of standup shows together
What are you guy's thinking about the featured players? I like Padilla and Wickline, but do we think Emil is getting asked back?
Ashley Padilla is the clear standout of the featured players. It’d be way too soon for them to make this call now, but I still think she may have the juice for Update if the opportunity ever presents itself down the road Emil and Jane are fine. Felt like Jane became more comfortable on stage towards the end of the season, but her lines still land like a wet blanket. Emil always nails what he’s in, even the minor roles, but clearly doesn’t get many bits on the show. Have to imagine they’ll both be back but wouldn’t be pressed if they weren’t
I forgot who said it, but I remember some ex-cast member saying Lorne always tells new cast members that it usually takes 4-5 seasons to feel really comfortable and find your footing.
is jane the cast member that does the surprising couple update bit with marcelo? i like them in that bit but cant say i remember them from anything else
yeah and they had a couple update segments playing a keyboard that did not land at all. the tiny baby feet or whatever was probably the best but it went on too long and didn’t entirely hit.
Yeah I liked Jane in that and the baby shoe sketch but otherwise I'm not sold yet Ashley is great and Emil is good
I feel like Jane gets a lot of hate from the mutant freaks that are SNL superfans since she got onboard and Chloe Troast got the axe. Jane definitely is still finding her footing. I feel Like maybe they hired her based off of her TikToks and TikTok following and that’s just not translating that well to TV.
Marcello carries the desk bit imo, but yeah baby feet one was not so bad Also does Jane specifically use they/them pronouns or are y’all just taking caution? Only ever seen she/her in relation to them but would like to correct myself if I’m out of the loop
Just got back from seeing Sarah Sherman live and hooooooly fuck it was incredible. Just rapid-fire unhinged hilarity. If you like her on the show, highly recommend.
