I had to watch late but I thought it was better than the last time he hosted at least, I genuinely really enjoyed how nuts the evacuation sketch was especially. But yeah this "sage" thing Chappelle is trying to pull off over the last few years really rings hollow with a lot of the dumb shit he's said. I did enjoy portions of his monologue (which has to be the longest monologue in the history of the show right?) but I do end up just rolling my eyes at him a lot Also I am really rooting for Longfellow to take over the WU desk when the time comes
I never knew Henry auditioned for snl. I only know him from your pretty face is going to hell 'SNL'’s Lindsay Shookus Recalls One of the Wildest-Ever Auditions: 'Three Minutes in ... He Was Completely Naked'
If you have Peacock, the SNL documentary series’ first episode is all about cast member auditions as well has rejected candidates and his audition is shown. He cups his junk on camera.
I enjoyed the SNL 50 Doc series on peacock. Easy favorite - the writers' episode. They had the doc crew following them during Ayo's episode last season for the week. I know it's been covered plenty before, but seeing the current model in action is fascinating. The "More Cowbell" one was the weakest one imo - but i guess if they had to go long on one sketch that was the one.
Yeah I loved the auditions one and especially the writer's one, those were such cool watches. I actually have the cowbell one on in the background right now because I didn't feel the need to pay as much attention to it lol
I wish there were more episodes. They could have had one just on those who have hosted, interview members of the 5 timers club, discuss hosts that were the biggest surprises to be funny, and the hosts who were complete duds.
Yeah I found this last night and just assumed it was a weekly release. I haven’t finished it yet, but it feels very abrupt to end on an episode about season 11 of the show when it’s a doc for the 50th anniversary
Yeah I really enjoyed the episodes. Writers was my favorite I was pretty unaware of the season 11 stuff so that was a good watch
Yeah I would have loved one about hosts and especially one about Weekend Update, it wasn't really mentioned in any of the episodes
Gosh, I remember the late 80s when we were so excited so see who the musical guest was and you HAD to stay up and watch it (there was no repeat the next day on youtube) I remember so many bands on stage - looking forward to this.
