Did we know that Jane Wickline’s dad was a writer for Letterman and her mom was Lorne’s personal assistant? My other SNL-lovehating friend just dropped that on me like it was common knowledge haha

 

I knew that but only because people were saying (just the messenger here) that they had to make room for her because of nepotism so that’s why Chloe Troast got let go

 

Yeah I didn't know the details but I heard she's a nepo baby. I think her tiktoks are legitimately really funny tho. Maybe that hasn't translated into her snl appearances yet

If this were true it would really suck! SNL doesn’t seem to have qualms about having a bloated cast so I’ll file that away in Strictly Rumors, but damn, I’m for sure a little bitter about losing Troast so abruptly

 

Jane is fine so far but it is ridiculous that they let Troast go

 

I thought they quietly fired her because her bf was a known abuser and she was defending him/attempting to silence people about it. At least that’s what tiktok said

 

Mk.gee is raw talent. He’s got something really special going on it’s refreshing. Loved it.

 

I’ve heard this but haven’t really looked into its validity, and also question how much the show that let people like Trump, Chapelle, and Gillis host well past their controversies would care about something that was only really known in the NY comedy scene. But yeah if her defending an abuser is true, then good riddance

 

Yeah I'm no expert on the issue but I don't think Lorne has any issue platforming problematic people (but fired Jenny Slate for dropping an f bomb?)

 

I think this is a common misconception, that happened on Jenny's first episode and she did a whole season after that. I think she's just another case of a really talented person not doing well on the show and thriving after

i mean, yeah, i had the rerun on (i'm on west coast) but i fell asleep and missed Pink Pony Club, Weekend Update, and the first half of the Little Richard sketch. Thank goodness I woke up just in time for the new song.

 

Also, the promise of a new Chappell song had to help too. I feel like big artists rarely debut a new tune on SNL.
