I skimmed a bit of her music earlier today because I’d never heard of her and it… did not sound like this. I liked this way more than what I heard of her studio music
Not only did Rae crush that, but I actually think that was one of the best sounding SNL performances in YEARS. P.S. Raye’s album was my #2 last year, definitely worth y’all’s time!
Aunt Linda was never my fav, but that wasn’t too bad. sometimes the show benefits from having veterans on, who knew?
I was never the biggest Wiig fan on SNL and her hosting gigs have been mostly duds. But I think they finally nailed it with this one.
I kinda thought that was just okay. I dug Jumanji, Pilates, and the Go Kart one. The rest felt pretty meh, and the last one was bad imo. But I’m glad it wasn’t the Wiig show like it normally is when she hosts
Couldn't watch last night Cold open was alright, most of it was lost on me like most sports-themed sketches Super fun take on the 5-Timer's Monologue, always love Paul Rudd and it was amazing seeing Jon Hamm and Will Forte on the show again Jumanji sketch was honestly a homerun, I loved it Pilates was great too Hamm in a sketch! Secretary sketch was kinda a mess but in a good way, I enjoyed it Retirement Party was super fun, always love sketches with just random characters. Also Forte being the best part reminded me how underrated he is I saw Raye as an opening act for Kali Uchis last year and I thought she absolutely killed it and she was even better here, that was an amazing performance, I've gotta get into her musiic Really good Update. The conjoined twin joke got a belly laugh out of me, the earthquake/eclipse bit was inspired and Aunt Linda was always one of Wiig's best WU characters Go-Karts was funny, great escalation Sonic Pioneers was super entertaining if not hilarious They did it, they lived up to the task of delivering the amazing episode Wiig needed! One of the few, if not only, wall-to-wall great episodes of the season. Loved how they used the cameos throughout too
I loved Wiig on SNL with a big “if” and that is when she didn’t have an obnoxious recurring character like Gilly and Target Lady. So glad they leaned into NOT doing that and only keeping Aunt Linda, which is one of the few characters of hers I actually liked.
