Prince's performances were obviously amazing, and although it was nice to see Prince Show again because it's been forever (Fred is seriously fantastic in those), I'm not sure it was in the best taste to make over half of the tribute show consist of a sketch that pretty much makes fun of him. I know he had a great sense of humor and probably loved them but it was still kind of odd, and obviously just intended to fill the full 90 minutes. I think they should have at least ended with that footage of him at the after-party if they were gonna insist on going a full hour and a half.

 

I was expecting more past cast members to come in to express their love of Prince and any experiences they had with him when he was on the show. I guess Fallon was the only one available.

 

Drake pulling double duties on May 14, Fred Armison hosting May 21 with musical guest Courtney Barnett.

Has the 30% less ads next season thing come up in this thread yet? If not, SNL will have 30% less ads next season.

 

They'll be cutting two entire commercial breaks but there will still be advertising it sounds like in the form of sponsored content or even product integration.

I feel like SNL already has a hard time filling an entire hour of content

Brie is awesome, Drake was fantastic last time he hosted and Fred is obviously great. Very optimistic for the end of the season

I don't give a fuck how much everybody hates The Californians, I love it. I bet Maya and Kristen show up for it.

 

I looooove The Californians. It took me a few tries but after hearing multiple real life conversations that sound exactly like those characters I love it. I definitely hope they have lots of special guests.

 

I just hope we don't get that Fred in drag one

I'd be surprised if she didn't show up

 

I would be so happy for another What's Up With That

 

We need another What Up With That sketch, even if it was getting played out over the last few years.
