The wedding makeup one and judges were absolute duds. Everything else was at least kind of fun and she was a decent host.

As an aside but I saw clips from the Gillis episode. Is he actually seen as funny ? He was fine in the sketches I saw but monologue and podcast I’ve seen he’s not funny.

For the first time in my life, I fell asleep before SNL came on last night lol. Watching now

Okay cold open. I haven't been following politics as much lately so some of it was lost on me

Charming enough monologue. I've really only seen Sweeney in Euphoria so looking forward to seeing her range

Police Station was funny, pretty predictable by the end but good premise

PDD was really funny, glad to see them back

Air Bud sketch was alright, premise was really good but the jokes weren't quite there

Big Bench was way funnier than what the audience gave it

Bowen's Straight was really funny, genuinely good acing from both of them too

Wedding Makeup was the first outright dud, the first Sherman miss that I can think of

Kacey Musgraves is... not for me

Pretty good WU. The Heidi character felt like her doing a Kristen Wiig impression but I liked Ego's stingray bit. Nick Cann Un got me good

Hooters was fun, nice way to make a sketch about the host's looks while actually including jokes too

AirBNB Interior Design was also funnier than what the audience gave it

Date Night was clever. I think Dismukes is one of the most underrated talents on the show

This was a good episode overall! I'm so glad they didn't just make a bunch of "lol the host is hot" sketches like they did with Elordi (her costar coincidentally), Sydney actually showed quite a bit of range and seemed really game, and didn't rely too much on the cue cards either. Writing was solid aside from a couple weaker ones too

Going by a typical full length SNL season (I forgot last season's was cut short from the writer's strike) but after the Josh Brolin ep expect about 6 more episodes.

Josh Brolin hosted an all-time episode back in ‘08. Pretty sure that’s when Palin showed up and Will Forte did the “Fartface” sketch.
