Well he didn't exactly make a case that they made a mistake firing him. Not a terrible episode but certainly not very good
I watched the monologue - halfway thru. I chuckled, I did... Once. The uber line. I shut if off. Hes not my style. He shouldnt be anyones style. (Just my opinion). Maybe Ill watch WU. But yikes....
It is and it worries me for next season. Being the 50th, I’m sure they’ll want it to be good and we may be in for a barrage of celeb cameos. I also think it’s possible they hire a few ringers for the year, akin to when they brought in Martin Short, Billy Crystal, etc.
They should bring in some ringers to write some sketches. maybe 51 a bunch of people will leave (hopefully Lorne too) and they’ll have some fresh ideas. The show is long overdue for some meaningful change. Che and Jost out of there alone would be a huge improvement.
i feel like i dislike him less than others around here but i wouldn't mind Jost with someone else honestly. just get rid of che. colin and sarah have great chemistry, though i'd be bummed at missing her in other sketches too.
I didn’t know about Shane Gillis before, monologue was mid at best. Thought this guy was going to be “edgy” like modern-day Chappelle or Gervais but he just came off as your friend’s friend who’s kinda drunk and trying to tell dumb risky jokes
I’ve been watch since ‘97 and this is definitely one of the roughest seasons they’ve had. And clearly they have a ton of talent on the cast’s side. I just think the writing isn’t there a lot of the time.
I don’t mind Jost especially once he started letting everyone make fun of him and make himself the butt of the jokes but a shake up needs to happen.
There were a few laughs. Gillis needing to rely on the g-word and r-word in 2024 is super hacky and lame. A lot of mess ups in the sketches too. Didn’t seem like they did a rehearsal.
lol I can see why they didn’t air that but I definitely laughed more on that than any of the skits I saw.
