I was thinking, wouldn’t the cast members still technically be on strike but this is in the replies

I would imagine many will be musicians doing double duty as both host and musical guest

 

Being picked at random from a forum to host Saturday Night Live would be a horror movie

 

SNL starts picking hosts like its the hunger games

 

Seems like a pretty good opportunity for Timberlake to finally come back, especially since he's already on a press tour for the NSYNC stuff

 

I forgot that he has a Netflix movie coming out in two days.

I think he’s part if SAG, so that likely won’t be happening.

I had Ice Spice on my bingo card but missed the rest. Shoulda guessed Pete though, feel like I even remember that being confirmed before the strike

 

Chloe hosted the show I saw with some of the snl people so that makes sense

 

Makes sense they're having Bad Bunny host cuz of the SAG strike still going on, but I wish there were more rock groups on the show. I know it's not part of the mainstream consciousness the way it used to be, but I feel like all we get is stuff like Bad Bunny and Ice Spice on the show now.

 

Seeing Pete the day after that in Cleveland, wonder if he'll cancel

Someone said earlier the SAG agreement on strike is different than the one SNL falls under.

Also idk if it makes a difference but he's probably not actively promoting something

 

Yea, he’s I guess regularly regarded as a stand up comedian

 

I thought that just applied to the SNL cast though? Pete’s done movies and has a TV show so I’m assuming he’s in SAG

While Davidson is also an actor, starring in the recently released film “Dumb Money” and the Peacock dramedy “Bupkis,” the actors’ union does not consider hosting to be a violation of their strike. In a letter to members that was posted online on Wednesday, SAG-AFTRA made clear that union members who appear on “S.N.L.” as either hosts, guests or cast members are not in violation of their strike rules because they are working under the Network Code Agreement, not the contract the union is striking.

Interesting.

 

Pete hosting is going to basically quadruple the number of sketches he normally was in per week as a cast member

 

Yeah basically how I feel is if SAG says nothing then it's not something to care about because they'd obviously want to make an example of the people involved if they considered something like this (or Cena and The Rock in WWE) to be scabbing
