ha, great way to cap it off

 

Had to start super late

Cold open was eh

Monologue was super charming, MBJ seems really cool. The bit with the women seemed a bit unnecessary though

Good Morning Today was super out there lol but I really enjoyed it, great escalation

Southwest Airlines sketch was funny but I must have missed whatever story it was about

Towel Boys sketch made me laugh but it was also too similar to the Key & Peele valet sketches

State Farm was awesome, although they should have waited for Donald Glover to host again because he looks and sounds just like the real guy

Street Fighter 6 was good, didn't outstay its welcome

I've never been a Lil Baby fan and this song didn't change my mind. Respect to him for using live vocals without much backing track unlike most of his peers though

Good Update. Second week in a row where the host is in it which is pretty rare

Male Confidence Seminar was great, Dismukes is so underrated

Bachelorette Party was super fun

Toyota sketch was good, reminded me of some 10-to-1s that Sudeikis or Forte would have done

Falling Down was great lol, big night for Dismukes

This ended up being a surprisingly great episode, super strong all the way through and MBJ really brought it

 

MBJ was good in most of what he was in - State Farm seemed to be the best for me.

Dismukes was definitely doing Tim Robinson in a few sketches.

 

This was a fun episode. The State Farm one had me cracking up from the start

I wonder what they'll do with either Joel or Oberyn. I feel like there's a funny sketch to be had with the concept of Oberyn on a dating show of some sort. Or maybe he's a contestant on The Bachelorette, and then after some jokes it fake pivots to their other hit show The Bachelor and he's a contestant on there too since he's a bi king.

 

Any predictions on who you think will be hosts or musical guests the rest of the season?

I'm hoping for Brendan Fraser or even Sadie Sink and as for musical guests, Boygenius and Paramore would be amazing.

But it's probably gonna be hip hop the rest of the season. Lil Yachty seems likely.

 

Paul Rudd to make up for his covid-interrupted 5th hosting. Adam Scott maybe if Severance season 2 starts up before the season ends.

No idea on musical guests. Fall Out Boy maybe.

Seems possible for the first 3 all doing huge tours and releasing new albums. I thought Turnstile might last year but I think with all the press etc they've been getting they might!

 

Doing something too many times is the SNL way! I say this as a lover of SNL.

So this is weird, but i got youtube tv going, and the SNL channel is just playing the simpsons.. ive restarted my tv and youtube tv app so many times, (and tried tv and phone version), and it isnt on and its just playing an old simpsons episode where Bart has to repeat the 4th grade. Dafuq.

 

I think Forte is the only person to ever be promoted after only one year
