After last episode i have a theory that Lorne is grooming him and/or Sherman to take over Weekend Update when Jost and Che are eventually done.

He has that kind of smarmy white guy personality that Lorne likes and traditionally does well at the WU desk.

 

He does have a Jimmy Fallon meets Pete Davidson energy to him.

 

Speaking of Davidson, when are we getting his first time coming back to host? Second half of this season or next season? He has a few projects next year so you know they'll book him as host the first chance they get.

 

Probably whenever his Peacock show is about to come out. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t want to host.

 

NBC loves to promote its own stuff so he'll probably host when Bupkis comes to Peacock.
Otherwise, whenever the Joey Ramone movie comes out.

 

Other question is which cast member that left last season comes back to host first? Davidson or McKinnon?
