A lot of names are being thrown around but the one I am seeing the most/the most popular seems to be Patti Harrison.
Patti Harrison feels too big to be on it, but would be their best casting choice in years, she’s so funny.
Patti would be great. It would make sense, considering Tim and The Lonely Island’s connections to SNL. Her and Sarah’s energy together would either be the best thing or the most chaotic thing in television history. Also, I would assume the other person is one of the Please Don’t Destroy guys, preferably the ginger.
wouldn't that still be a net of -3 cast members? Seems like a decent balance to me, it does scale the cast back a bit, but it also gives them some more chances to discover a new star.
Wouldn't be surprised if they're carrying some extra cast just due to the fact on any given week, COVID can wipe out 5-6 people.
Two of the new cast members will be glorified extras who never get any moments to do anything Give me the Patti Harrison / Sarah Squirm update desk tho
Two of the new cast members will be white Ivy League guys who get a majority of sketches. Two will be POCs that Lorne can point at and say “We’re diverse!” and then cast them as “Clerk #1” and “Friend of Chloe Fineman character that has 2 lines” and release them after 2 seasons.
Molly was good as basically the new Rosie O'Donnell in Amazon's "League of Their Own." They should be fun.
Losing Aidy, Kate and Melessia and adding three dudes and a non-binary person feels a bit weird. By my count SNL cast will have six women (Sarah, Punkie, Chloe, Ego, Heidi, and Cecily) compared to eleven guys. Feels like that imbalance could probably result in Molly getting primarily cast in femme roles. Hopefully they'll still be given room to be themself
