I'm surprised they cut that Pete/Eminem video. It was pretty funny, acknowledges that Pete, Kate, Aidy and Kyle are all leaving, and have a huge cameo. I can definitely think of a couple sketches last night that this could've replaced.
Have to imagine they kept the tickling sketch in because Fred was in it and they didn’t want to cut two of his sketches. Otherwise, they should have cut that one. Or maybe they didn’t want to give Pete two goodbyes.
Yeah, why the FUCK would they cut that Pete video but keep Guy Who Bought a Boat in Update? Alex isn't leaving, he didn't need that segment as much as I like the character. It's a great ending to his multiple Em parodies, a nice tribute from him to Lorne and has nice shoutouts to the other leaving cast members
I don't watch much of this show, but bringing Beck back for one of their 90's sitcom parodies would've been my ideal Kyle sendoff
I feel like there’s a club of SNL folk that habitually return for cameos like Fred, Maya, Amy, Steve Martin, Tina. It’s interesting to see who is likely to never return, like Leslie Jones, maybe Vanessa Bayer, Tim Robinson, etc. I feel like Beck is probably in the latter group.
people do, I don’t but I was just being a dick because other people in this thread police who you can and can’t like on this show
I think Kate was the only person I kind of loathed just because she had clearly overstayed her welcome. She definitely has a ton of comedic talent and I think shined during those SNL at home shows.
Yeah, I know it's an obvious comparison but Kate really started reminding me of Kristen Wiig where she's obviously an incredible comedic actress but by the end of her tenure I really wanted to see other people instead of her I do think Wiig has a lot more range than Kate though
One thing that Kate did that annoyed me was that she played the condescending roles too much. Most of her talk show or game show host roles were like that and it was always gave me the impression that she thought she was better than everyone else. I loved it when she played weird or out there characters like grandma’s with a quirky personality, stuff like that.
I wonder if she specifically requested to play mostly men in her sketches? It's a really interesting choice
So, obviously, I know Rappaport, but I was trying to think of the last time i saw him in a movie and I guess the last one may have been Copland with Sylvester Stallone? She did do a good impersonation, but not so far fetched as they both are from NY, right? As for Stephen A Smith.... My wife (or kids) wouldnt get the reference but Chris Redd is so spot on with his impersonation. I havent watched ESPN (no cable for years and years), but when I was younger and watched it.... its just a great impersonation.
I wasn't that familiar with Sarah when she first got cast on the show at the beginning of this season but after watching more of her work outside the show I'm kind of shocked they hired her lol. It seems like she's doing a really good job translating it to SNL so far though, I think she has a bright future and will carve out her own niche on the show that hasn't been done before
someone on Reddit is saying Patti Harrison may join the show! https://www.reddit.com/r/LiveFromNe...mber/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
