    Had to watch after

Cold open was a little all over the place, felt a little jumbled together

Oscar Isaac is such a fucking cool guy, I loved that monologue

Paw Patrol went on a bit too long but the premise was great

Inventing Chloe parodied something that I have never heard of but I laughed a lot and knowing Chloe I'm assuming she nailed the impression

HR Meeting was really funny, great escalation and actually nailed the ending which is rare

Meatballs was weird as fuck and I enjoyed the shit out of it

Charli XCX is making some of the most interesting pop music right now, really enjoyed that song

Fun WU, good jokes, great Kate segment and that last twist in Ego's bit was great

Aidy's Sketch was a fantastic premise, they both killed that

In Over Your Head wasn't great. I think that's the first time I've ever seen Kyle break though

Creative Writing was great, I'm glad they're centering whole sketches on Isaac

One of the best of the season. I love Oscar Isaac and I knew he would do great on this show, and it was so cool that they trusted him to carry sketches on his own and he nailed it. Only one sketch was a real dud for me too

Meatballs sketch was incredible. It almost felt too weird and silly to even be on SNL in a good way. It felt like a sketch that belongs on a much cooler show than SNL, like The State or something.

Meatballs sketch ruled. Nothing else really stood out but Isaac was good throughout.

One of my favorite SNL bits is when they end a sketch with a reveal that you’ve been watching an ad for something the entire time — the Kevin one got me pretty good

Sounds like another Louie/Master of None/Ramy type show

I'm kinda a sucker for shows like that so I'll at least give it a shot

What's everyone's thoughts on the please don't destroy sketches? I'm not a huge SNL person (i like it a lot but I don't catch in the regular), and most of the time I've caught it and seen their sketches, they've missed for me. It seems from youtube that I'm maybe in the minority and they're a big hit? What are your guys thoughts? any old sketches to go check out? I assume they're the 'new' lonely island?

They are definitely the new Lonely Island. My girls like them a LOT - I like them too. Most of their sketches are hits for us, but YMMV. Which ones? Watch them all. Short enough.

Martin's friend with the kid connor. I guess the premise was good but the execution missed. Just watched the latest one to with the 'new personalities' which is what led me here. I did think three sad virgins was pretty hilarious.

Also unrelated to that, but related to this thread, that meatball sketch was so bizarre and so good.

I think a lot of the sketches are pretty good, but I don't really like those guys in an already bloated cast. It'd make a lot more sense to me if they were writing them for the rest of the cast. At least Sarah is getting in them a good amount.

Has this world stopped asking what it's thinking?

I just got tickets to see them in Austin for Moontower!

Their sketches on the show are hit or miss for me. I'd like the group to go weirder/ darker like in their YouTube videos, but I understand that's not really SNL's/ network tv's vibe.

the Please Don't Destroy sketches are always better than at least 90% of whatever else is on a given episode. Though they have a predictable formula that they should try to break out of if they want to reach comparable heights to Lonely Island / Good Neighbor

Agreed. Let them to continue to develop their voices by writing on the show and see if they can broaden their repertoire in the coming years. Growth doesn't happen overnight.

I thought Three Sad Virgins was a pretty notable attempt by them to branch out that worked really well

I also wouldn't be surprised if they're hired to the cast next season

PDD popped on my radar with their vax skit about a year ago and I’ve liked just about everything since. Definitely agree they’ve got a formula and that has limited shelf life on its own, but I think they’re funny enough to move beyond it. Shailene Woodley 2K21 is some brilliant shit.

Considering the PDD sketches are actually funny pretty much every time, whereas most of the rest of the show on a given week isn’t, my take on them is that I like them very much lol
