i think y’all like the young members of the cast way more than i do. outside of chloe and bowen, i haven’t really been blown away by any of them outside of one or two skits/WU appearances
Mikey, Alex, and Melissa have only been on since 2016. I'd be fine with them staying on up to another 5 years, personally. Heidi and Chris started in 2017, while Ego started in 2018; those three can all stay a lot longer.
Love Chloe, Bowen, Chris, Ego, and Andrew. Heidi feels like she’s maybe fallen off a little for me recently. JAJ is super promising but we’ll see if the longevity is there outside the 45 impression Love Kyle but his best stuff has always involved Beck. Alex and Mikey are both still very strong players that never fail to commit. Kenan should probably go but a part of me never wants to see it happen Everyone else absolutely needs to be 86’ed
Fair enough! Part of my thoughts are that I'd rather just have the show be potentially bad but interesting
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, SNL has always been an average show. Every single episode has major clunkers, many times multiple. Every single episode normally has at least one major highlight, many times multiple. Yet we always put the show on a pedestal because each week there is always hype due to the host or musical guest or for me, the unknown. You never know what will happen - because it’s live. Surprise guests can jump in at anytime. It’s what keeps people like me watching every week. I am almost always disappointed in every single episode, yet I continue to watch. I’ve been watching since the early 90s, I do tend to agree with some that that timeframe was the golden era, although the pre taped sketches in the past 10-15 years have produced some of my favorite comedy sketches of all-time. I don’t think the live sketches are really that funny anymore. Many of them are straight spoofs - verbatim - of something that happened in real life earlier that week. Many political. I don’t recall the show ever being this political, but then again, our country has never been more politically torn apart so it’s hard to blame them for centering a ton of material off it. I don’t know how to “fix” it because it’s always been average to me. I guess the common denominator is Lorne?
No. I wanted to find that funny. Its not a topic that should be covered in humor. This one is a miss for me.
To discuss: MIley Cyrus and Pete Davidson hosted NYE produced by Lorne.... and we had no idea that PDD was going to show up and do sketches.... There were some interesting things from Pete's mouth (surprised they went thru the censor), a wardrobe slip from MIley, and PDD basically were highlighted at least 4 sketches.....
I had absolutely zero clue who that was and googled and saw that she was in Schmigadoon and I really liked her in that. I'm assuming she's a theater actress, she could do a great job
