There are a lot of people on tik tok funnier than anything SNL has done in years, but they won't get hired because their dads didn't work there. They're not unfunny, the writing this season has been clearly better and they might something to do with that as well. But it still just kind of sucks.
Yeah it's not that they aren't funny or Abby Elliott wasn't but there's only so many slots and other people don't get access
I wasn’t pointing out where they came from because they aren’t talented btw I just thought it was interesting because I didn’t know that about them. The seltzer sketch was very funny
I get pissed about nepotism so I get it. But sadly, if that’s something to get hung up on then we wouldn’t be excited for just about any movie or show. Hollywood runs on it.
And nepotism can pay off for us sometimes, see: John David Washington, Wyatt Russell, Rashida Jones, etc.
Absolutely. On the related note of too many cast members, I feel bad for Aristotle Athari. He’s definitely getting the Luke Null/Noel Wells treatment of only being the default crew member in a sketch.
Yeah. The line read he had in that dog sweater sketch was Kim territory bad, it sucks to go a whole episode and only see that when he probably has more to bring to the table. I don’t really know much about him though
That felt like something out of “30 Rock” where they make the Josh character wear the dog nipple suit. It gave me secondhand embarrassment.
I'm really liking this style of monologues so far this season where they just do like light standup, it's really charming
