At least he went on top with his Vin Diesel "THE MOOOVIES" commercial. But unless he wanted to go, there's no reason to get rid of him while I assume Jost and Che stay.
Beck leaving is pure pain, I need a version of the "Wrong Kid Died" meme from Walk Hard but with "The wrong cast member left"
I think "reduced presence" is kinda the way to go. Losing a bunch of big names at once could be really hard to recover from. That being said, only adding one new female member (and basically just to replace an outgoing one) I think is a poor step in that direction given its the Kate/Cecily/Aidy folks that are gonna be the hardest to replace. So you'd think if they wanted to transition away from those three, best way to do it would be to hire a couple more women and feature them in a lot of sketches so that when all three do leave next year its less of a blow.
It’s happened before, but it’s usually staggered out, like losing Armisen, Wiig, Hader and Samberg in subsequent seasons in 2012 and 2013. I don’t know what they’re planning on doing with 21 cast members besides delaying the inevitable where most leave after this season or drop out mid season. It seems like a bad strategy for newer cast members.
2021 is the funniest year for them to find a guy with a quality Trump impression. Right as he walks out the door. And if he does become relevant by running again then we are as far away from that as possible lol
