Actually enjoyed this episode! The cold open was better (still bad tho) and I think I enjoyed basically every other sketch. Jack Flatts was the highlight for me. Great WU too. Also the crowd sounds dead all the time because it’s way smaller than the crowds we’re used to. Although it might also be that thing where the musical guest has a obsessive fanbase and most of the audience isn’t there to see sketches.
Has Adele ever even acted before? She seems like an extremely weird choice to host but not be musical guest. She doesn't even have anything to promote I'm assuming since she would presumably also be musical guest if that were the case
IDK if anyone here listens to Las Culturistas (Bowen's podcast with Matt Rogers), but he had some really interesting thoughts about the political relevance (or lack thereof) of the show on this week's episode that I strongly recommend listening to.
I wonder if they’ll go for a Tidal/Pandora sketch where she’ll run through a bunch of musical impersonations. I genuinely don’t know what her comedic talents are.
He also has a cameo in the Tom Hanks five-timers club. Also insane: Tom Hanks was in the five-timers club before Forrest Gump even came out.
As much as I like Maya, that really should have been Melissa's role. Not a single cast member in this cold open
