I assume she is after this season, that's why I said that

Also this episode kind of felt like a mess by the end but it was still probably my favorite of the season in terms of how many times it made me laugh

So that was the best of the whole season and maybe the best since Chapelle hosted. Only thing missing was a musical guest that doesn't suck

The cold open, Mulaney's monologue, and the game show sketch were veryyyyy long. That's what happened. I was thinking "Man, this is a really long sketch" during the game show between laughing fits.

Shark tank and wedding didn't really go anywhere but that bodega sketch elevated in all the right ways. Maybe the best what's that name I've seen too.

They both are fucking great writers.

    I miss Man Seeking Woman.

Still, it's kinda sad that SNL is recently best when people from 10 years ago come back and use sketches that were cut 10 years ago

Or its best when a host is a former writer that is given more control than the normal writers are given. There are probably great writers now that have ideas not gaining traction because of the bullshit system in place that incentivizes other writers to push them down in order to lift up their own ideas as opposed to making the best possible sketches. If those writers leave and find success on their own in a non-suffocating writing process they might be able to come back and host and do what they should have been allowed to do in the first place without need to prove some bullshit outside legitimacy.

Or maybe the writers are just bad now who knows

Haha you more eloquently stated my feelings. I would not accuse SNL of only hiring bad writers lol
