I can't remember for sure, but I think I turned it off. Either way, it definitely wasn't memorable.

 

I actually really liked his special

 

Yeah Michael Che’s stand up made me love him even more than I already did.

 

I see no comedic chemistry between Colin Jost and Michael Che.

Weekend Update's been pretty dull with them.

 

They are fine, but the hardest I've laughed is when they mess up.

But I started watching the show when Seth was on, so I've never known a great anchor

 

Seth was great by himself. But Jost/Che really pale when you compare to the Fallon/Fey and Poehler/Fey dynamics.

I still don’t see why they had to replace Cecily as co-anchor

Pretty sure she asked for it so she could focus on sketches

 

I mean, that’s what we’ve been told. Don’t necessarily know that I believe it though.

Although as good as Cecily was at Update I definitely prefer her talent being used to anchor pretty much every sketch of every episode. If her being on Update would’ve taken away from that, I’m glad it worked out the way it did.

The thing with Alec Baldwin's Trump is that it's alright, or it would've been if they'd done it far less often than they have. After the 7 billionth time watching him squint and trumpet out his lips it's just grating.

 

Yeah does Trump even do that with his lips?

 

All of the Trump-related stuff isn't funny because no parody will ever come close to being as funny as the actual reality. Melissa McCarthy being a caricature of Sean Spicer will never be as funny as watching the real man sincerely trying and failing at his job in an absolutely ridiculous way.

 

I actually thought the first time they did McCarthy as Spicer was one of the most inspired political sketches they'd done in years

 

somehow just found out that Mulaney co-wrote my favorite sketch with the creator of Man Seeking Woman and in hindsight of course he did

another one that if I remember correctly Mike O'Brien wrote

 

Regarding the Smash Mouth sketch, wasn’t there a recent sketch in which everyone started breaking out in the same song? I can’t remember what song it was, it was in either a bedroom or nursing home

 

it was How You Remind Me

 

And Rocket Dog is pretty similar to Switcheroo
