No idea. I feel like I've seen things saying they've been working on stuff at times but who knows.

 

there is a rumor floating out there that the new Saosin album will have both AG and Cove. Not sure how true that is but if its true...

i like a good call and response duo on punk music. like old tbs etc. helps write more urgent songs.

i know a long time ago early in Ants career he gave an interview and explained he really liked that kind of thing and thats why he recorded the melodies on TTN the way he did. obviously he never really had anyone help him perform it live though.

interesting idea to do that now.

 

on second thought, wouldnt that just make it THAT much harder to perform their new songs live? i do doubt theyll do that. ie getting everyone in the same room.

on the other hand, they might have alot less to lose now than they ever had.

 

The layered vocals are one of my favourite things about TTN I'd love more of that.

 

Given AG's consistent refusal to sing Cove era songs live even when it was advertised, I'd be pretty shocked to see new material where they co-write or share vocal duties. Maybe a release with some separate songs from each, at most?

 

Wasn't that more about the fact that AG considered them to be Cove's songs and didn't want to take that from him? Not really anything he had against Cove.

 

Yeah if anything I would expect an album with both singers but never on the same song. Maybe two EPs released together

 

Make a Cove version and an Anthony version so the songs can be performed no matter the tour.

 

whats the next most least credible thing we can come up with. we must go deeper.

 

Beau’s Discord is the place for all the gossip around this, but essentially I think the word is that Beau has had dozens of demos ready for vocals for a long time, but Anthony keeps pushing back the schedule to put vocals to any of them. LSD pushed that back even further, and obviously he’s very active with them, so I’m not sure there’s anything imminently happening there.

 

thanks for the info. im out of the loop on most things saosin or lsd. i wasnt sure but lsd seemed part time to me. also it always feels like saosin just leisurely writes an album or half album over the span of 5 to 10 years. lol

 

Yeah that's pretty much it. I remember Beau saying Along The Shadow consisted of ideas dating as far back as the ISOSG era, and that he first approached Anthony (or the latter asked the band, not sure) with the idea of rejoining Saosin in 2010... except, again, it took a couple years for the latter to write and record parts for the final songs.

There's been talks of a new album since at least 2019 or 2018 and back then what was holding Anthony up was his activity with Circa so nothing has changed lol. Beau is obviously also busy with his production work, so it's not all on Anthony.

 

I heard Saosin is going to give us a full instrumental record and we can just ask AI to put Cove or Anthony vocals to it. Really appreciate the band trying to appease all fans!

now that you mention it, I bet either cove or ant would make for a more interesting “cover” of anberlin songs than Matty Mullins. Anthony versions would especially be insane.

 

Looking at this setlist is kinda blowing my mind, I didn't really pay close attention to the band after their second Cove album and I had no idea he was kicked out of the band THIRTEEN YEARS ago, holy shit. I had no idea this was his first full show with the band since 2010, that's insane to me too. I feel like they didn't promote that fact at all. Lastly, it's also insane to me that Anthony came back 9 years ago, where did the time go?
