Anthony shared an IG post for Furnace Fest with Saosin next month, so it looks like he's still in the band for the previously announced stuff. Honestly feels like they'll just have whichever vocalist is available at the time? Kinda cool

 

Sounds like both Anthony and Sao are having their cake and eating it. So maybe it is good for all! Especially Cove haha.

It is a bit annoying they ever kicked Cove out though. I had tickets to see them on their last tour that they cancelled. It’s not like Cove is a bad dude, so wished they’d just stuck with him. They kinda treated him like shit and he was super respectful and humble throughout.

 

If Cove can take care of his voice and avoid the issues he had a decade ago, I’d love for the band to just have 2 vocalists.

 

I don't think it's "annoying" at all why they kicked Cove out. They were pretty honest about how he wasn't taking care of his voice and he was becoming miserable to be around both on and off the stage. With that being said, Cove has also been honest about how disappointed he was in the band after one of them made some sort of disrespectful comment towards him and no one else stood up for him so it's no surprise Cove was pretty much checked out during the touring cycle for ISOSG.

There's just so much drama to this band lol

 

It's weird to me that they kicked him out for not taking care of his voice but then brought Anthony back in the band. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but Anthony can be kinda hit or miss live, as much as I do enjoy his unique voice

 

Honestly, none of us will ever know the depths of the band's inner workings and I don't want to assume anything more than what they have said publicly. That being said, we know there has been a ton of ups and downs through their history, but it really feels like they are at a good place right now, so hopefully everyone's happy

 

I hope so. If Anthony is cool with the setup then it’s actually a pretty awesome turn of events!

 

Im like 98% sure that was Justin and I think the rest of the band is kinder to Cove these days and they maybe buried some of that in the past... They definitely ditched Justin completely and still work with Cove so.... actions speed louder than words I guess.

 

I’d be willing to bet it was Justin and, yeah, I’d assume all is cool between Cove and the rest of the band at this point now that they’ve brought him up on stage for some shows and now are doing a tour together.

Honestly, I think it’d be really cool if this band toured with both vocalists and only played songs from the respective vocalist’s releases. Would be a great way to see S/T and ISOSG material again.

 

Wouldn’t mind an album or a series of EP’s. 3-4 Anthony songs, 3-4 Cove, and then a couple with them together.

 

Would actually be really stoked to hear both dudes on one song. Could be pretty dynamic

 

I should mention it here too. Cove is guesting on a track on the new P.O.D. album Veritas, coming out early next year.

Damn.. Cove sounds good there, imo.

Anthony is great but I’ve always been moreso about the Cove era. He sounds stellar in Dead American so any vocal issues he’s had in the past seem to be just that - the past. He might not be as high pitch as he was in the S/T era but that goes for most aging musicians of that scene.

I also saw him play Bury Your Head and Voices live last year with Saosin on their winter tour (where DA opened) and it was so sick that you needed to give it healthcare tbh

 

Would love a full time Cove return. Their best output was TTN for me, but their worst was ATS. I've seen Anthony do TTN live enough times now that Cove era is the one that scratches the itch.

Which feels weird to say, because I wish Anthony had stuck with Sao in the first place. I think they could have been bigger and better than they were with Cove, but it wasn't meant to be.

Totally agree. I’m so much more into all of Coves material. He sounds awesome which is really cool. I hope they tour in the US with him singing.

 

Self titled was my first immersion into Saosin, so I’m all about a Cove-focused approach for the time being.

I still would love a new album with split vocal duties from both dudes.

Also just realizing I’ve never seen them live before!
