Until they release a new album, they are going to play the same setlist they have been since the last album came out. It's not that shocking, they only have like, 20 songs together, not a ton of room for mixing it up
Would like to see them again sometime as I haven’t since their first show back with Anthony in Philly the night before Skate N Surf in 2014, but their upcoming Philly show is on a Monday, which is a tough swing for me these days so I guess I’m gonna be waiting for them to tour on a new album if one ever comes out
Just wanted to follow up this post by saying this thread got me revisiting this band’s discography after work today and I decided to buy a ticket for the Philly show on Monday I fucking love this band
I think this set list has confirmed for me that I enjoy the Cove era of this band far beyond anything else they’ve put out. This set would be a total snooze for me, more of a celebration of the Anthony Green era specifically and that’s it. I have a sour taste in my mouth now given the marketing of the prior shows as being a celebration of all of their songs and albums and then specifically not playing anything from the beetle or ISOSG.
The only songs I’ve seen from ATS are an early demo version of Illusion & Control and another demo called 12-6, which I’m unsure if that song ever became a finished product on ATS. I’d have to find a YouTube video of it to check Suffice to say, I’m looking forward to that set!
Shame about no Mookies and doesn’t appear to be any new song. Hoped they might drop one. Set is what I’d generally expected but it feels like a lifetime ago that I saw them play those “new” songs live.
I haven’t seen any of the new stuff live yet. they always play outdoor amps in So Cal on dates that worked for me and I just want a dark club / theatre experience.
Personally amped for all the along the shadow stuff. A lot of those songs I never thought I’d hear live!
I remember seeing Saosin in 2005 and when Cove came out I was like “what the fuck is this? What is happening?” I had no idea Anthony had left the band, but I also wasn’t very online in ‘04 and ‘05. the bug album wasn’t exactly what I wanted from them but I still played the shit out of it. ISOSG completely lost me though.
I remember seeing one of Cove's first shows with the band, opening for Finch in 2004, and it was pretty rough. I know he got better over time, but then it was a very very rough live performance
Planet Radio 106.7 + listentotheplanet.com My guest on this week's show will be Anthony Green. Frontman for the bands Saosin, Circa Survive, The Sound of Animals Fighting, and L.S. Dunes, Anthony has also released several solo albums over the last decade. I'll be chatting with him about his most recent releases with a few of these projects, his feature on the new Skrillex album, and more on this week's show. I'll be spinning some tracks from a number of his various projects during the hour, as well as an eclectic mix of both new and old genre adjacent music. Thanks to Anthony for coming on the show. Tune in at 7:00 PM CST this Saturday night on Planet Radio 106.7,or listen anywhere on the planet--literally-- with the app: Listen to the Planet App
Haha yep, when Anthony first came back, but before the full length with him, they played the whole EP, Mookie, Accident and then Seven Years again because that's all they had
I can’t find it on the internet anymore, but does anyone remember the performance of I Can Tell, where he’d come on for just one song after getting in the band? And it was like, horrifically bad?
