Ideology Is Theft is one of my favorites on the album. It fucking rips. Doesn't seem like 12-6 made the album.
I'm going to listen to this after work I still haven't. If it sounds kind of like Circa I'm sure I'll love it
Anyone know the setlist they've been playing for Taste of Chaos? Are they playing any songs from the albums Cove sang on?
Not in order: Seven Years Translating The Name Third Measurement In C I Can Tell... The Silver String Racing Towards A Red Light Illusion & Control Control And The Urge To Pray
Also, I think this album absolutely separates itself from Circa. The only common connection is obviously Anthony. This album is more aggressive and heavier than anything Circa has really done. I mean, sure, Circa has Get Out, Schema, and Descensus, but I think this album separates itself from even those songs.
Kinda similar to how No Devotion is the more atmospheric version of Thursday's stuff but still pretty different
Yeah, I think that's a good example. I remember seeing a lot of people say that album reminds them of No Devolucion. Sure, it's mellow and moody, but they're very different from each other otherwise.
i'm going to post this here because this band sounds like what would have happened if saosin stayed with anthony after the first release and stayed heavy but proggier. a supergroup of sorts (will swan, members of hail the sun, stolas, a lot like birds) they're really the only band of this style i still like. the last EP was very good, hope i like this LP pay what you want for the first LP, it's very good.
I've been a "life-long" Saosin fan, I've posted on their forums for the entirety of their "career" (From TTN till well after In Search Of). I've made amazing friends and fell in love with a girl who I ended up spending 3 of the most beautiful years of my life with. So to say that this band, especially in this line-up, means a lot to me would be an understatement. So after careful assessment and after having had enough time for it it sink in, my feelings on this album have distilled to a resounding yawn. It's not even bad, it's just uninteresting. Edit: Definitely checking out Sianvar, thanks for the rec.
he's also the vocalist/drummer in hail the sun, though i don't really like anything i've heard of them. sianvar is far more interesting
Probably because Blue Sky Noise came out. I can see the comparisons but I'd say there is a wide difference.
Been listening to Along The Shadow semi-regularly ever since the release and my opinion on it hasn't changed one bit. Though I will say I'm enjoying Drinking From The Fountain a lot more than I did at first.
Anyone coming back to this? Listened today for the first time in a while with no expectations and was floored
