After A LOT of listening to this album, my favorite song is 'Second Guesses' and tbh it might be my favorite Saosin song. Can't get enough of it.
not a fan of this album but man when that breakdown thing happens in Drinking From the Fountain. and then Anthonys screams get overlapped. that was fun.
The instruments on "Second Guesses" sounds a lot like The Used's "Earthquake". I'm glad the vocals do not.
Took a while but this finally back in my rotation and I love it. Hotelier, thrice, and this are all I'm listening too right now. Might throw radiohead back in there as well
I do too. I didn't mean the comparison as a slight, it's just the noodly lead guitar in both songs are similar.
Haha you gotta see Anthony's latest Instagram post. His flight is cancelled and he'll be missing the flight to the show, and there's a load of comments from Anthony/Cove/Saosin joking about filling in haha.
I'll bet Ace, Adam and Chris give it a shot for a few songs, maybe do an acoustic set with them or something. We'll seeee
After hearing some of these songs live I have a greater appreciation for the record, Anthony's voice is captured pretty much perfectly to his live sound
im just glad he isnt shooting up anymore...i remember when i was like 14 when saosin broke up me and all of my friends were like yea dude...the drummer sold his drum set for some crack...haha...great and inspirational to see a comeback by the boys.
That song feels almost like a rewrite of "Mookie's Last Christmas" -- same key, same harmonics in the guitar line (lots of the same notes, even), same verse/chorus dynamics and overall feel, and eerily similar bridges (solo high guitar lead accompanied by cymbals, then a toms-heavy section leading into the final chorus). And Mookie's might be my favorite Saosin song, which makes for a tough comparison..."Second Guesses" kind of sounds like a slightly cheesier version to me (the intro and chorus especially), but I still really love the verses and pre-chorus.
yeah, it sounds like Mookie's covered by someone who's really into Thrice's Anthology. Which in this case is a good thing, because the song turned out amazing. Unlike a lot of the other stuff on the album...
I really like Ideology is Theft for some reason one of my fave tracks on the album. I never hear that one brought up. Love when it soars midway through it.
I've tried to listen to this, but it just sounds like Circa Survive but a little harder; nothing like Saosin.
