TTN > OLG > Juturna > Along The Shadow > Blue Sky Noise > Meh Of course that's not a knock on this record. TTN/OLG/Juturna are all very important records to me.
Circa is my second favorite band, I enjoy all of their work leagues more than anything Saosin has ever done. I enjoy TTN and this a lot but they don't compare to Circa's work for me
Anthony's voice is just a perfect mesh with Circa, so no way I'd put this above most of those albums.
If I am in the mood for post hardcore I enjoy this more, if I'm in the mood for more experimental rock I'll enjoy circa more.. Both bands are excellent at what they do, let's leave it at that
I'm not about to rank two different bands discographies against each other just because they share the same vocalist now, but Circa is in a whole league above Saosin.
After two listens, I like this. I need to spend more time with it because, aside from the pre-release songs, Second Guesses is the only one that really stuck out to me of the bunch, so I'd say that one and Control And The Urge To Pray are my current standouts.
"Ideology is Theft" and "Control and Urge to Pray" are my current favorites, but I like every song on this album. I'm seriously enjoying the hell out of it. There are so many cool sections throughout. Ending to "The Secret Meaning of Freedom" and opening of "Racing Towards a Red Light" get me jumping. Hooks on "Second Guesses" and "Sore Distress" are really strong. Loving this album more and more each day.
This album is probably gonna end up one of my favorites this year. It also makes me more excited to hear Anthony's solo album later in the year.
Yup. Can't definitely see this ending somewhere towards the end of my top ten. Been looking forward to Pixie Queen for a few months now.
Hopefully that comes out in the fall. I've liked the couple tiny clips that's showed up on his Facebook/Instagram a lot.
Nothing on here is on par with any of the TTN songs for me but Drinking from the Fountain might be my favourite since then.
I still enjoy it. It's not like I skip it or anything. But being sandwiched between Control and the Urge to Pray and Along The Shadow of Man, that's a tall order to stand out.
Was listening through this at work. Pretty enjoyable, not super in love, but it's fun for sure. Sometimes I feel like Anthony relies on a lot of the same hooks, but I wasn't super focused on it when listening.
I've been gone all weekend and haven't had time to listen to this yet, but my co worker is playing it in the car right now and I already love it, first 4-5 songs are fire so far
I've always kept an eye on this band since we traveled in the same circles back in the day. However, despite having accomplished musicians across the board and great parts around every corner, the sum of these parts does not equal a memorable song in most cases. I'm trying to approach the new material with an open mind but it's just not clicking for some reason. I wish I was on the same level as many of you, but their music just doesn't stay with me no matter how many times I listen.
The album has grown on me so much over the last few days. At first it sounded a little scattered, but I'm finding it to be more cohesive now.
Yeah after 3rd listen it's really starting to grab me. A lot of the tracks blended on my previous listens, but I'm really starting to find great moments in each song.
