Drinking from the Fountain might have the first breakdown I've not "guiltily" enjoyed in years. Along the Shadow of Man is the heaviest I've ever heard anthony and this is groovy as all hell. So bad ass
I buckled and went to kingdom leaks. I just couldnt resist. Hate torrenting but cmon guys you left me no choice :)
I don't think they are brought to the forefront or highlighted nearly as much on this record. Not saying they are bad, just don't pack nearly as much of a punch for me.
1 Drinking from the fountain 2 Illusion and control 3 Control and the urge to pray 4 Along the shadow of man 5 Count back from ten 6 Racing toward a red light 7 Old friends 8 The silver string 9 Sore distress 10 The secret meaning of freedom 11 The stutter says a lot 12 Ideology is theft 13 Second guesses The ending of this album is incredible. Just tops the self titled in my mind
I kind of like that the bonus tracks come after the rest of the album. My gut feeling is that they're less "bonus tracks" and more of an epilogue. Control and the Urge to Pray and Along the Shadow of Man are both the canonical closers.
I feel like the last four tracks could all be closers. It just sad that the last two won't be on vinyl and might not be on cd.
Yeah, that's a real bummer. I really love Control and the Urge to Pray as a closer, but I think Along the Shadow of Man does the job even better. It's kind of crazy how many potential closers this album has -- a lot of albums can barely manage one.
Where are you guys seeing these bonus tracks, or even Along The Shadow Of Man? The one I have ends at Control.
1. 3rd Measurement in C 2. Lost Symphonies 3. They Perch on Their Stilts 4. I Can Tell There Was an Accident Here 5. Seven Years 6. Translating the Name 7. I Never Wanted To 8. I've Become What I Always Hated 9. Collapse 10. Come Close At the moment. Something on here could crack in there in time.
This is awesome. I was hoping for a lot, and I got it. Exceeded my expectations for sure. My favorite is probably Ideology Is Theft, although I do love Stutter (so FSF) and Drinking from the Fountain. I don't like Freedom/Old Friends much, but there's more than enough great here to make up for it. So happy
It's pretty great how well received this has been so far. Very few negative comments (minus the expected boo-birds).
I'm very happy with it and I was nervous. I hope the other two impossible comeback's I'm anticipating music from this year, Busted and Acceptance, can live up to this.
This album is pretty much exactly what I wanted from them. Maybe less Anthony screams, but yeah. 'Count Back From Ten' is probably my favorite track.
