It means I don't think there's some hidden animosity or drama going on here and I don't think it can be described as Anthony having "left." I think the timing and what the band wanted to do right now versus what Anthony could do right now were two different things. And if I remember the previous conversation, it was here: And everyone was agreeing that Cove was the current main singer but there's a chance they'd work with Anthony again in the future and saying it was never going to happen didn't make sense (especially with this band). My understanding of the current relationship is that that's still true. There are unreleased Saosin songs that have his vocals on them, for example, that could be released one day.
If there is anything I've learned in this sphere of music over the last 20+ years, it's that you should never say never when it comes to Anthony Green rejoining old bands.
i dont think theres animosity either not sure what i said implies that and yes to the rest too my reading is saosin chose to have cove come back and theyre pursuing it fully. for me i could kinda see that but it really i think was meant to be cemented publically when they had their Insta post titled “saosin 4.0”. thats when that conversation here happened i think. i think weve talked about it more than once. its all in good fun btw if that wasnt obvious.
I read "Anthony left" in the same narrative voice as the first time he left the band and the drama around that, glad that you didn't mean it that way, but the way I read the posts about him leaving/not being in the band/etc. was definitely with a negative connotation. For that reading of it;, I'm sorry.
ok now remember everybody when saosin releases another ep with anthony in 2036 everybody remember to dunk on me hard dont hold back
i already said this once but cove fucking slays live now idk what he did to be that good at his age now
this music video makes me feel like i just took a hit of delicious Saosin hot sauce and the storm is coming and Cove Reefer is surfing on it to come put my tongue out
oooh I like this idea to find old posts like this, so when you are wrong about Saosin it's even. Nicely done, touche.
I feel like Saosin is a band where the singers are basically hired guns. The singers seem to be the bottom rung of the band for decision making. They will do an album cycle and then decide if they want to take a break, continue with Cove, continue with Anthony, continue with both, or try something new.
if dunes was only on those fests by virtue of the parent bands being present why aren’t they on the neverender fest?
Hot takes to be used against me in the future: Dunes is dead. Circa is probably not actually back the way we want them to be back. Saosin is probably not actually back the way we want them to be back. "5 songs". Tsoaf reunion was 50/50, Keith's stuff being the best on there. Boom.Done and so long avalon are great, in large part due to Keith's production/assistance. Get Keith to front Saosin?
tsoaf album only dips with the horror + pretty like cake and theyve had lower floors than that. closer is the best though and thats keith all the way
This got me, haahaha just bring back Days Away and Good Old War and keep him in TSOAF and Anthony solo, is that so much to ask???
Has Saosin ever been a band that promises new music and then that promise is left for years upon years? I feel like they've been pretty spot on with what they've promised so far, so I'm not sure where the doubt on new songs or albums is coming from. They've also been pretty open and honest about their plans. At 2024 WWWY Fest, they said they'd be playing Beetle album in full for 2025 touring. They did. At Warped Tour 2025 they said they'd be releasing new music/album in 2026. They have released a single with songs in the tank. Is this doubt just something fun to pile on? It's not like waiting for blink music where the timeline is whatever is stated + a year or two buffer. Yes, it's been years upon years between releases, but it's not like they have strung us along with their plans.
its exactly like that haha (minus the stringing along arguably). they take forever and then miss their own arbitrary dates and of course theyve been through hiatuses both publicly announced and not and other similar scenarios. (theyll show clips of songs years in advance or never even release them sometimes) its cool though that now after everything, rumor is theres a whole new ep. who knows how long to wait after that or how much touring theyll be doing. theyre 10000% that kind of band.
lol remember i was trying to say Circa should get a new singer after theyd been broken up for a couple years
