Yeah I remember people were confused when that pressing came out. Seems like a lot of work to re-record all that and then scrap it, and I'm assuming the band still doesn't own the rights to the originals
IN IN IN. Also loving “Snake”. Like the beetle album and this will be snake album. ST pt 2? No title?
so glad theyre doing this so close to the erra album that way my brain is still fixated on insanely high singers lmao. also cool since drift and along the shadow came out right around each other
I'm really trying to manage my expectations based on how Cove's other projects haven't resonated with me, but seeing him live at Warped last year has me all aboard the hype train. Saosin has always been pretty consistent, so there's big hope in that.
I know I am the resident Cove-sourpuss around here, but I expect nothing good and would love to be proven wrong
yeah dead american is kinda whatever but they have a few good songs here and there and i always felt like the biggest thing holding them back was their instrumentals being kinda whatever (and some of coves lyrics being really bad lmao) so him fronting an actual saosin album im less worried about because beau is always riffin like crazy
I honestly hope not. Of all of these nostalgia re-recordings that bands of this era are doing, this is by far the most pointless. S/T is one of the most well-produced albums of all time, not a chance any aspect is improved upon. I am a Cove Reber Believer (does anybody remember that guy from Reddit back in the day?) and I am so stoked for new stuff
Beau confirmed on his Discord that 5 songs are done for the new LP. Theyll finish the rest after tour. New single is coming before Australia dates, TTN SheetHappens tab book is also confirmed. (I bugged him about that one.) and that there will be 3 guitar play through videos of the new single. Beaus part, Phils part, and both of them together. Oh and they all felt that new music should be the focus and they will get back to re-recording the Self Titled at "Some point."
It has nothing to with production quality. It's to reclaim ownership. I'm sure they understand the production is good on the S/T
I'm sure you know but Jesse has said he models himself after Cove and that era of Saosin is why he started Ghost Atlas. If Ghost Atlas and Saosin came out with new albums at the end of this year, or next year, my brain would melt into my skull. Now imagine a fucking tour with those two?
Yeah, no. TTN sounds better than S/T in many respects. I get that S/T has that huge mega-produced Hollywood sound that some people love, but a re-recording could actually make some of the layered guitar parts audible for the first time.
