Most of it does to me lol, I don’t feel like they’re that different stylistically? Much closer to that release than to S/T or the second album at least, except for the mellower/slower songs that do build on the latter
agree ATS is just actually different than TTN if I had to choose a post TTN track that sounded closest to TTN, it would be Sleepers
My top 3 from ATS would be Ideology is Theft, Second Guesses, and Control and the Urge to Pray I’ve found myself very into The Stutter Says A Lot over the last year too
Hard choices because I love every single song so so much but right now it’d be: - Ideology Is Theft, which felt like the most classic Saosin song with a couple twists. Anthony’s high note in the bridge gives me goosebumps every single time, such a neatly written melody. - Old Friends, the sludgy/post metal guitar work is my catnip and I love the back and forth with the vocals and layered screams in the background. Anthony was cooking on this one. - The Secret Meaning of Freedom, never expected to hear something this punky from them back then and this still goes so hard. Again, I get goosebumps when Anthony throws those high pitched screams in the bridge.
I almost never see it get mentioned, but it’s “Illusion & Control” for me. That outro is just insane.
secret meaning, silver string, drinking from the fountain, and maybe sore distress I could completely leave the rest personally
Ideology Is Theft, Second Guesses, Count Back from Ten, Secret Meaning, Control and the Urge and Drinking From the Fountain are the ones I love on there.
Illusion, Silver String, Counting, Ideology, and Racing are tops for me. Don’t really like second guesses or stutter much at all.
Is this a remaster of the ST I wonder? I saw some bits of Beau remixing old tracks recently. (and vinyl to accompany?)
Self titled is literally perfect in my eyes. Such an important album to me growing up. I spin it like once a week
