I've never been to San Francisco, but that is changing when I visit for a week on a business trip in early June (5th-11th). I am staying at the Parc 55 downtown, so any recommendations would be appreciated. I plan on checking out Muir, maybe Alcatraz, and the Walt Disney Family Museum.

Also, if there are any shows going on that week, that would be great as well.

Go to a Giants game, if they're playing that week. Also, why wouldn't you do Alcatraz? Obviously Golden Gate is a must to check out. Also, check out the food truck festival on Friday night (Off the Grid)

Looks like the Red Sox will be in town so that works for me. Also, I probably will end up at Alcatraz, I think our group wanted to do that one afternoon. And a food truck fest would be perfect too

The Walt Disney Museum is really interesting, I loved it there and plan on going back soon. The Presidio in general is cool, and walking along Embarcadero is pretty neat too.

I have been living in San Fran for about a year and love it.

Since this is your first time, it may be good to hit some "tourist" items off your list - Alcatraz, Golden Gate Bridge (park and walk on it, it costs money to drive back to the City), Haight / Ashbury is interesting for an hour or so to check out the vibe, and walk along the Embarcadero. If you want to be a super tourist, take the Cable Car to FIsherman's Wharf for a bread bowl.

    Get Philz coffee.

Good restaurants in North Beach (italian) and The Mission District (mexican food).

I took a trolly car and didn't pay. I was very drunk, started talking to the driver about baseball, he didn't say a word. Thought that was great.

Check out the Musee Mecanique at Fisherman's Wharf for some old vintage games. One of the most fun parts of my visit when I went there.

Musee Mecanique was so cool. I love stuff like that, watching the old machines operate from the early 1900's. Just booked an Alcatraz ticket for Friday morning as well

Go to Cellarmaker Brewing Co for some dope beer, it's like a mile from your hotel. Go to Mikkeler Bar, it's like across the street from your hotel.

I've definitely seen both of those, I'll try to check em out. Although I am super hungover today so I don't know when my body will allow alcohol into it again

I was also told to go to Rare Barrel nearby to try their sours

Rare Barrel is cool, their beers are very sour. But that's across the bay. I didn't know if you'd be heading over that way.

If you head that way I got some other cool recs as well.

So glad I found a Lemonade in the city, it was such a surprise when I saw it because I love them so much. The blood orange lemonade is perfect and they have good macarons

every time i'm in SF i'm only ever there just for a show so i'm never really taking the opportunity to explore the entirety of the city. last time i got to do that was i think at some point a year ago. went with my friend throughout the Haight-Ashbury area and hit up a few record shops
i'd do it again, but i'm literally the worst with directions and would get lost very easily (which is a recurring fear of mine)

I'm gonna be in Cupertino for the month of July for work. What are some must see attractions or restaurants that I have to try in San Fran? Never neen. Very excited.

What type of food do you like? I'd say try to check out Off The Grid on Friday night; they've got all the food trucks in one spot and usually some type of free music. Every weekend there's a different "festival" in different neighborhoods throughout town. Highly recommend checking out sf.funcheap.com for tips on things that are going on in the City. I love going on urban hikes throughout the City; it really is the best way to see everything it has to offer. Stern Grove hosts free concerts every Sunday: Hieroglyphics and the SF Symphony are each in July.

Been staying in Sunnyvale for work, but I've spent three days/nights around San Francisco and I've been having a blast. Such a beautiful city and the weather is great.

  23. Will be in SF Tues-Fri next week. Might try and hit up a Bon Iver show in Oakland if I can. Looking for recommendations though! I was there in the spring for 2 days but barely got to explore the city. I'm staying in Nob Hill..any must-dos?

If you have someone to grab a drink with, I suggest checking out Kozy Kar. It's just a cool little bar that has like waterbeds for seats and plays 80's cartoons and commercials spliced with porn on the TV's. Right across the street from Kozy Kar is Bob's Donuts which is fucking awesome.

Then there are more obvious choices like Haight/Ashburry which is like "cliche", but even as someone who is local I still enjoy just walking down Haight and ending up in Golden Gate Park and drinking a beer or somethin.
