New album coming in (presumably early) 2017.
last album was a real treat, and if this album is anything like the first two singles, this will be too!
3/3 with Charlene on vocals, which I'm very happy about.
Loving No Promises
Love this band. At times reminds me of The National.
Ooooh gonna have to give that stream a listen this afternoon
August is great
Edit: Entire album is great. But right now I'm listening to Dead on repeat.
Finally got to listen to this! I love the direction they went -- it's almost 100% maximalist chamber pop and I think that's what they do best.
This is even better than the last one. The added pop and 80s touches are very welcome and he's stopped trying so hard to sound like Matt from The National
And they got rid of those useless interludes
I like the songs sung by Allen a whole lot more on this than I have on either of their first two. "Better Company" and "Bones" are two of my early favorites of the non-singles, along with "August".
Their set for this album is very good.
I miss the live alto sax though
I’m pretty disappointed in the EP. Feels like a huge step down from the last 2, and I don’t like the new female vocalist nearly as much
Yeah, I like Saints, The Hunger, and the title track but everything else is forgettable
I just need my huge, vocal powerhouse track like “Sonsick”, “Jackrabbit”, or ”Open” on Cormorant 2. That’s all I’m asking.
Cormorant pt II 3/27
Lukewarm on The Cormorant as a whole but the key change on Freedom gets me every time
