Sounds like this album’s “overwrought, slightly cringy but well-intentioned” political song; I’ll concede that it’s much better on that front than “White Privilege”. But I’m glad that the rest of this album sounds like it’s going to be much more grounded in the personal.

 

Really digging this, don't think there's anything that tops The Borders but it's a way better album overall

I like the Springsteen style on this and how it sounds mostly, but yeah he doesn't have the lyricism. A little disappointed with that side of it. I'm biting my tongue a bit but he does make me cringe more than enough at times.

 

I like how brash he is. This is a great record, love his energy. Need to spend more time with it.

 

Fucking WHEN did this guy get big enough to play a 14000-cap venue in Ireland and fucking WEMBLEY STADIUM?????? I did like his debut quite a bit but damn, missed the memo.

Maybe you knew that, but I had to look it up because I was confused myself haha.

 

I mean I did but I was not convinced he'd shift 12k-odd tickets in a morning at a single show, guess I was wrong!

 

First 6 songs are amazing and it kind of trails off a bit. Track 10 is great though

 

It’s definitely nothing to scoff at, hopefully he keeps attracting bigger audiences! But not before I get to see him in a small venue in the US, that is. :)

 

It's surprising that this album isn't more talked about on here. Seems like it's right in the Chorus wheelhouse.

 

It's really fantastic. Can imagine anyone who liked the heartland rock of the new Killers album would dig this a lot.

 

So I just found this today.... title track is one of the best songs I've heard in years.

 

Popping in to say the same… HOLY SHIT!!!! Thank you Spotify for serving this up at random today. I am blown away by this track. Have heard a few of his other songs but had no clue about this one. Just… perfect. I love the build, the vocal melodies, the Springsteen-ness and sax, the unapologetic British-ness of the lyrics and accent… man it’s so good!
