It’s pretty clear that Billboard needs to establish a new rule limiting how long a song can stay on the charts. It’s actively hurting the industry to have last summer’s hits still hanging around the top 20.

Though, of course, this year’s lack of major pop releases is also a problem. Kind of wild that the Kpop Demon Hunters soundtrack is currently dominating the Hot 100 to the degree that it is, but it’s one of the few things that’s actually broken through and caused people to disrupt their streaming of the same old songs on the same old playlists.

    Goddamn, man child Prestigious

kpop demon hunters soundtrack goes hard. Kids I work with eat that up and don't rly know who Sabrina Carpenter is outside of espresso. But probably depends on the demographics

It is interesting how on this album cycle 'Manchild' was the only pre-release single. I think it makes sense though because they're still riding the high of Short N' Sweet Deluxe (I'm still hearing "Busy Woman" on retail playlists, lol), so they're probably trying to limit Sabrina-fatigue by waiting until the album release week for the big "voilà" marketing push. "Tears" is getting a video on release day, so I think that'll be the first big test for if this album makes the kind of impact in the cultural zeitgeist that Sn'S did.

I'm kind of surprised "Manchild" didn't just run the table on the pop charts all summer, considering the very weak competition.

For what it's worth, it's currently the most played song on Z100 with over 105 spins/week (which correlates to being played nearly once an hour).

The only reason I know what that song sounds like is because I listened to a NYT Popcast where they talked about random hit songs and did a segment on that one. I have never heard it out in the wild.

It gets played all the time on the radio. It’s such a bad song.

My spouse watches America's Got Talent, and they've played it to death during montages and such, and just the little chorus snippet too. I hate it.

“I’ve never heard that song” is not what you want people saying about the supposed “song of the summer.”

Literally know of it because of this episode and haven't heard it once since. Couldn't tell you what it sounded like either. One of those songs you immediately forget after listening. Which is impressive considering that video plays the same bit of the song over and over.

back half of this is much stronger than the front half. would take a full album of songs like When Did You Get Hot?, Go Go Juice, and House Tour. other than that, the rest of this is just ok for me

it’s so milquetoast…sounds like a continuation of PPP…wouldn’t have hurt if she went away for a bit and ushered in a new era with a more distinct sound instead of a reheat.

album will still do numbers, cis white girls LIVE for her.

I admittedly wasn't head over heels for Short and Sweet, but it's enjoyable... this album is... bad. and pretty boring. Not sure what happened here

Go Go Juice and House Tour definitely standout as the few that aren't dull, Goodbye is pretty solid too, actually
