Why would I listen to bad music

Talk about a good band

 

I do not begrudge Sabrina and her skyrocketing fame, because she has definitely put in the work, but this album might not be for me.

idk how I'm feeling about this era right now. Man Child didn't really speak to me and felt a little too sonically similar (really only in the intro, but enough) to Good Luck, Babe and this album art is just kind of uncomfortable.

 

I was just about to post about that cover, but leaning against posting the cover itself ‘cause I don’t trust people here to be normal about her, lol. But, it fucking rules.

 

If this is anywhere as good as Short n Sweet, I'm all in. Also love Manchild.

 

wow that song/video are both incredible. my favorite from her yet. also her uncompromised visual aesthetic is cool to see. let her cook, etc.

 

This song makes me mad because I really do like the melody and production but I don’t want her to just be stuck making tongue-in-cheek songs for another year. But it is catchy and if I keep listening to it then I am part of the problem!

 

Really enjoyed this write-up. Something that I love about Sabrina is that she feels like she's speaking candidly every time she's interviewed, which is a skill that I think a lot of people take for granted. Curious for what the rest of this will record will end up sounding like.

Yeah, I do understand if the artwork makes you uncomfortable for one reason or another, but I'm seeing lots of pearl-clutching online over what seems to be obviously tongue-in-cheek given her lyrics lol

 

yeah I’ve gone a bit back and forth in my mind about it. I feel like the tongue-in-cheek essence that is usually pretty obvious with her was a bit lost in the album cover - it feels like it was played a little too straight, even if the intent was to subvert a lot of the old, extremely misogynistic imagery that I’ve seen linked to the cover.
