If you learn how to do basic maintenance on your car that saves a lot of money. Of course it takes time but it's satisfying being able to fix something on your own.

I really should, but to be honest I don’t even know where I’d start. Like take a class or something?

I’m trash at changing oil, I know what to do but I’ve done it only a few times.

YouTube, since it’s a repair tutorial platform as is.

I wish I can take public transportation everywhere because drivers are insane and every time you drive one of them can kill you

I've learned everything I know from watching youtube videos and from my little brother whos very mechanically inclined. Some things have taken more time than they should have, lots of swearing and going back to the auto parts store because I got the wrong part. It's worth it in the end in my opinion though. Even just basic stuff like changing your oil will be way cheaper than taking it to a shop and it'll take you like 15 minutes to do it.

Although I prefer working on motorcycles instead of cars, easier to access everything with a motorcycle.

It’s kinda interesting to me that finding a good and honest mechanic can be such a precarious endeavor. Like, it must suck to be a mechanic and have peole automatically assume that you’re a slime ball who is going to rip people off, but I have also totally been ripped off by mechanics before lol

If I ever do need a mechanic I go to this guy that has been friends with my dad for like 25 years. So he always gives me a good price and usually will bump my car up in line to get worked on fast.

My dad used to buy mustangs from the 70’s and fix them up, so I feel like I have the capabilities buried deep down somewhere, I just have to harness them lol

I wish I didn’t let money dictate my happiness/stress levels, but it’s a legitimate concern and it fucking sucks. I was already upset about something today regarding receiving less money than I thought I would and then the car thing happened. I just hate that I am a full time manager and just barely scraping by like, that’s not right. Thank Jebus I don’t have kids, I honestly don’t know how people do it. If I’m barely making it and I’m a manager and a bachelor how are these people who are parents and below me on the totem pole surviving?

This is sort of related, I cut my own hair to save money, and this morning when I was doing the spots I missed last night the guard slipped and dammit I went from a sensible 14 to a much too short 8 to cover the damage

    This is the truth.

My son decided to put spare change in my CD drive a few weeks ago and I watched a video on how to take the entire middle panel off so I could get it out

The last 2 books I've read have made references to bands/musicians discussed heavily here, don't know if coincidence or...

First one was a guy wearing a New Found Glory t-shirt and current one referenced a character always listening to a Frank Turner song
