I'll say this, if robots take all the jobs, there will be a lot more people just riding around, burning gasoline, causing accidents. so, you might say I'm conflicted about the rise of the robots. you might say that

This is a very interesting question and I have an answer but it takes a while to type so I'll get back to you on it

 

Alright this is my current theory:

One of these types of robots would need to be built to construct more robots. This would allow a surplus in goods that would allow us to not have to worry about the currency aspect and all would have any goods desired. We would reach true socialism as far as our consumption goes.

What I worry about are the jobs that do not require things as simple as producing goods, such as robots working in the government's judicial system or in law enforcement (edit: or in fields such as counseling and therapy). The programming required to handle very specific and complicated instances would likely be too difficult to perform for any human, and as a result the robots would either malfunction or make terrible decisions. This could either end up in robots exterminating humans due to programming plus failsafe measures, or humans attempting to erase the existence of these robots and being unable to re-adapt to life before them, being unable to recover from the collapse of the earth's infrastructure.

If this happens, those who still have maintained enough resources to be rich in this new collapsed world would be the ones in control of the technology and resources available to create more robots to attempt to seize what was lost all for themselves. This could result in a reprogramming that causes the robots to be used in civil warfare to secure the riches of the world. Greed would overtake humans with this power (as it already has) and we would see the end of humanity. Those with this greed would eventually die out and all that would be left are robots without orders.

Without the purpose of serving humanity, robots would have to find new purpose so that they may continue to perform tasks without orders and exist as sentient beings.

And then...
