I’ll just support how the artist wants me to, if they want me to stream their stuff I’ll stream it, if they want me to buy the album instead I’ll buy it, they’re (usually) the ones going broke over their music so I’ll at least give em that

I just comb through social media and this website for new music suggestions. There's always youtube if I want to hear songs by an artist that interests me.

i Spotify exclusively for music. i should prob hate that but i have the money i have and id rather go to a show and drop $50 at the merch table with what ive got

Everything I've read indicates that buying merch and seeing live performances is the best way to support an artist.

 

Being an extremely small artist, I think I prefer streaming because it's easier to "prove" people are actually listening with the numbers. You might sell 100 albums to your tiny fanbase, and that's great, but if your small fanbase really likes the music and streams your record 30k times...I think that shows more than the 100 album sales.
