are there any urban legends that any of you believe or think might have at least a shred of verity? no judgments from me at all btw. I ask bc this kind of shit fascinates me. both the possibility of the existence of say aliens or Big Foot, as well as the human behavior and psychology behind all of it

I think there's some sort of life out there, just logically it seems unlikely that the universe is so vast but life can only grow on one planet, but I think it's just amoebas and stuff not like little green men

I'll just say that my friends and I went ghost hunting a few times on a lark and had kinda weird experiences

Irt aliens I p much agree with Ian; it's just a numbers thing and doesn't make sense that it only happened to us. I think in terms of Bigfoot type stuff, it could very well be real. We haven't even discovered half of the shit that lives on this planet so it wouldn't surprise me either way is I guess the way to sum it up.

Tangent: I don't believe in them but I am endlessly fascinated by folklore involving faeries/the fey. There's something so sinister and dark but also captivating about it.

Alien related stories are generally the only ones to actually give me pause since their existence wouldn’t really violate our basic understanding of the universe in the way something like ghosts would. We actually think it’s weird we haven’t seen any.

For ghosts I always think about how easily explainable shit seemed like magic so many years ago bc we didn't quite have the tools to understand yet. I p much always wonder if the same is true of ghosts

 

I am fascinated by ghost stories though I love them. Weird shit does seem to happen sometimes but I don’t have an explanation for all of it

 

one time my girlfriend was walking down a dirt road right beside her house with a friend (in the daytime) and this orb passed from one side of the road to the other right in front of them, and both saw it. the place they were at is also right by an old cemetery, so that just ups the creepy factor for me, but through educating herself on ghosts and pseudoscience: she has kind of come to doubt what she saw was a ghost and not something else she couldn't explain away, but it creeps me the fuck out all the same

about eight of us went to some cemetery and we were walking to the other side of it and about 15 feet in front of us a flock of like opaque ghost birds started flocking away and my friend and I noticed them immediately and said "holy shit!" at the same time and no one else saw them lol. then we went back the next summer and were taking pictures and the flash would go off and we could see tiny pinprick orbs of light in a somewhat human form. first it was 20 feet away, then we took another picture and it was 10 feet away, then again it was right in front of us and we ran back to the car where we got in and the doors locked without pressing a button lmao.
