I couldn't tell you the last movie I saw that I ACTUALLY wanted to watch was.

    Suicide Squad maybe?

there isn't a single movie playing that I really want to see right now. I don't care about Lady Bird or I, Tonya or The Commuter. lame :-/ I was looking forward to watching a movie today.

I'm surprised you don't care about Lady Bird.

The Commuter? Is that Taken 7 or whatever?

I'm sure it's good, just strikes me as that Juno or Napoleon Dynamite kinda movie where it's trying very hard to be quirky and different. I'm sure I'll get around to it

I liked it too but I think about it more and its issues and I feel weird initially dumping as much praise on it as I did. It's not a terrible movie, I guess

i didn't love three billboards (and liked it less the more i sat on it) but it's still worth seeing i think. i liked call me by your name much, much more though.

it's Clint Eastwood's newest movie, so it's naturally about real American heroes

seeing a “gay romance” in the Deep South means I’ve got a 400 person theater all to myself.

but everyone on the staff complimented my taste. so that’s pretty sweet as people usually make fun of my taste in movies. they’ll be seeing a lot of me so free snacks would be cool eventually.

Surprisingly, that’s a different movie on a train

I do love Juno but hate Napoleon Dynamite. It was less quirky than expected. But I also had no idea what I was going into. The Dave Matthews song being used as a punch line was worth it for me.

my issues with people criticizing Three Billboards are 1. people say it's overtly racist but I hear stuff worse than that on a daily basis. that's the reality of the deep South, as sad as that sounds. 2. people I guess thought Rockwell's (racist) character didn't quite earn his redemption at the end but I don't know what people really wanted to happen there. what would have satisfied you?

while, yes, it stars a sort of outcast, rebellious teen, it's not really anything like either of those and the core mother/daughter relationship at the center of the movie is far more realistic and interesting than anything in that kind of "quirky teen comedy" - saw a lot of my mother and sister in them.

I'll check it out based on your and G$'s recs. if it has genuine heart and isn't a carbon copy of those kind of films then I have a lot less reservations about seeing it
