Magnetic Fields have a 69 song album, it's a very nice masterpiece

 

even though Wowee Zowee is maybe my favorite album of theirs, gold soundz and fillmore jive are like perfect indie rock songs

i don't want to overwhelm you bc it looks like you've got a lot on your plate but Bee Thousand by Guided By Voices is also excellent and also should be on your list and that's the last thing i'll throw your way without you asking okay done. also make sure when listening to pavement that you note when the album ends and don't just play through the deluxe versions which have a ton of b sides. crooked rain ends on fillmore jive

 

The Gay Blades are great

 

Guided By Voices is on my list too. It is overwhelming for sure.

Listen to indie kings Imagine Dragons

 

A funny thing I heard recently was someone listing Imagine Dragons as an example of a good band, only like 80% sure they were joking

 

pavement rereleased their records with a ton of b-sides/bonus tracks/extras, the album proper is just twelve tracks (until filmore jive)

 

You don’t get sad boi indie cred until you’ve listened to Elliot Smith on repeat in your room in the dark after a break up during a thunderstorm surrounded by empty beer cans and 3/4 consumed bag of goldfish

Not that I am speaking from experience, just from, ya know, what I hear.

 

There's also a lot of bands I've listened to and enjoyed but haven't had time to give a second listen or dig deeper. Why do they make so much music

I remember last year instead of studying for an English final i learned how to play 2:45 am by elliot on guitar and i still got the A and was cool as fuck so who wins in the end
